PlanIT Group is seeking a EDI Mapping Analyst to support our Federal customer in the Washington, DC area. The ideal candidate will have experience with EDIFACT and ANSI X12 standards on UNIX / LINUX platforms, experience with at least one EDI translator packages on UNIX / LINUX such as EDI Translator packages such as Seeburger, Messageway, Gentran or TLE, and have the ability to read and troubleshoot EDI transactions from within flat files.

EDI Mapping Analyst
We are seeking a top-notch EDI Mapping Analyst to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is in Raleigh, NC. Hybrid remote work is currently allowed, but the position may transition to full time on-site in the future.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Create and maintain EDI maps using tools like Seeburger BIC Mapping design
• Perform requirement analysis, design of the EDI maps.
• Convert data between different formats, (e.g. X12, EDIFACT, XML, CSV)
• Develop custom mapping solutions based on business and trading partners requirements
• Troubleshoot EDI errors, failures, and rejected transactions to ensure smooth data flow.
• Collaborate with IT teams to optimize performance and resolve mapping issues
• Ensure compliance with ANSI X12, EDIGFACT and other industry standards
• Maintain EDI documentation, including mapping specifications and guidelines
• Perform unit testing, functional testing, and regression testing for new and updated EDI maps
• Identify opportunities for process automation and efficiency improvements
• Work with stakeholders to streamline data exchanges and reduce manual processing
• Interact with external consultants or business partner representatives to complete EDI projects.
• Proven record of good judgment in solving problems and handling challenges.
• Have a working knowledge of EDI transactions sets (e.g. 856, 214, 810, CARDIT, INVOC.)
The ideal candidate will have an understanding of and proven experience utilizing the standards and concepts for the following:
• Experience with EDIFACT and ANSI X12 standards on UNIX / LINUX platforms.
• Experience with at least one EDI translator packages on UNIX / LINUX such as EDI Translator packages such as Seeburger, Messageway, Gentran or TLE
• Ability to read and troubleshoot EDI transactions from within flat files
• Ability to communicate and administrate correspondence in a group and with trading partners
Basic qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree, and 7 years of relevant experience (additional 4 years’ experience in lieu of degree)
• 4+ years of mapping EDI transactions sets
• Proven experience with at least one (or more) EDI translator on UNIX / LINUX platforms
• Recent experience in an EDI Data mapper position within last 3 years (non-supervisory role)
• Must be able to obtain a Position of Public Trust Clearance – US Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder), and must not have traveled outside the US for a combined total of 6 months or more in last 5 years.
• Must have resided in the US for the last 5 years
Preferred Qualifications:
• 9+ years of mapping EDI transactions sets
• Experience with Seeburger products
• Local to the Raleigh, NC area as this position does not have relocation assistance.
Additional Provisions:
• Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
• Pass both a client mandated clearance process to include drug screening, criminal history check and credit check.
• All candidates must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident.
• Candidate must have lived in the United States for the past 5 years.
• Cannot have more than 6 months travel outside the United States within the last five years. Military Service excluded. (Exception does not include military family members.)
