PlanIT Group is seeking 2 Installation Desktop Technician's to support our Federal customer in the Washington, DC area. The Installation Desktop Technician is responsible with assisting staff with installation, configuration and ongoing usability of desktops, laptops, and peripheral equipment and software. You will be a member of technical implementation team fulfilling a wide variety of technical service requests where excellent customer service and professional expertise are required. You will support customer installations and support in person, remote desktop and/or by phone. Must be focused on working with a team and coordinating with team members to solve complex issues. This position will be onsite in the Washington, DC area.

Duration: One year plus extensions
Shift: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
100% on-site
Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance

Installation Desktop Technician
The Installation Desktop Technician is responsible with assisting staff with installation, configuration and ongoing usability of desktops, laptops, and peripheral equipment and software. You will be a member of technical implementation team fulfilling a wide variety of technical service requests where excellent customer service and professional expertise are required. You will support customer installations and support in person, remote desktop and/or by phone. Must be focused on working with a team and coordinating with team members to solve complex issues.

Responsibilities:
• Provide a high-level of customer service to all customers including effective communication.
• Installs, configures, and upgrades computer hardware and software which includes the migration of data.
• Provides technical support and troubleshooting to network, desktop, and/or systems hardware and software.
• Applies advanced diagnostic techniques to identify problems, investigate causes, and recommend solutions.
• Set up and support hardware, software, network access, telephones, and other equipment for new hires and existing employees.
• Contribute to departmental policies and procedures related to computer hardware, software installations and customer support.
• Support Windows 10, Mac OS, iOS, and Android.
• Receive and respond to incoming calls, and/or work orders regarding desktop and/or laptop problems.
• Perform delivery of IT Equipment as well returning to stock of equipment.
• Provides phone and help-desk support for local and off-site users.
• Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
• Participates in special projects as required.

Qualifications/Experience Level
• 8+ years of directly related experience supporting IT operations with Windows 10 and in Active Directory environment.
• Must have 5+ years of experience with technical proficiency in MAC OS, tools and productivity office suites.
• Advanced level experience in MAC/PC hybrid environments including mobile devices.
• Hands-on experience with a wide range of infrastructure, including but not limited to Operating Systems, Device Management, and client systems.
• Experience troubleshooting mobile devices using both iOS and Android. Experience with AirWatch a plus.
• Provide IT support relating to technical issues involving Microsoft core business applications and operating systems.
• Must have min. of 3-year experience with JAMF (SCM platform) and SCCM/PXE for Windows.
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to effetely prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• Extensive equipment support experience.
• Working technical knowledge of current protocols, operating systems (Windows 10/MacOS) and SOPs.
• Must be able to lift to 50 lbs.
• Keen attention to detail.
• Team oriented and skilled in working within a collaborative environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Certifications:
• MCSA
• ACSP
• AMIT

CLEARANCE: EDUCATION:
U.S. Citizenship
Associate's degree in a computer-centered discipline.
Must pass background investigation for a Public Trust.
